A MESSAGE FROM JACQUELYN SMALL, Founding Director of Eupsychia Institute:

BURNT WINGS AND MELTING HEARTS
An Invitation to Those Like Me Who Fly Close to the Sun

This is "a call" to all my soul brothers and sisters out there, who fly high and love to live as close to the sun as you possibly can without singeing your soul. I’m sure you realize the time is overdue for humanity to transcend. Big Change is happening all around us, and within our very core! Our entire species is currently being catapulted into a leap across a chasm and into the Great Unknown. We’re in the chasm now, which is why I hear from so many of you that you feel lost or lacking in energy or motivation. We’re headed into the vast and awesome Collective Unconscious Mind now, a journey that carries us all back to our center, the Sun, to get our instructions and re-groove into our next human expression. This egoistic perspective we’ve been living through is dying fast, with signs of Shadow all around us. This giant Shadow archetype will overtake us if we continue these dead old ways based in greed, separatism and unconsciousness. Whether we like it or not, we are a group soul! And whatever hurts any one of us individually, hurts humanity as one soul. Group consciousness is the keynote for the Aquarian Age we’ve now entered. Evolution is moving us on.

Remember when the fish stepped out of the pond and realized it had legs? Or when the animal stood up and walked on two legs, with a psychic awareness of past and future now residing in its head? Well, this is one that big: We are becoming a whole new species – no longer the animal/human we’ve been used to, but a new kind of hybrid who knows it is both human and divine! Tielhard de Chardin tried to warn us of this many years ago when he labeled us "spirit-matter." Some are ready to step into this new identity, while others would rather spin back around and repeat the same old ways that have always interested them. For these "old ways" are also a station in consciousness where much learning takes place. So some will remain there. Everyone will get what they want, in a strange and unfathomable way that only the Lords of Evolution understand. So have no fear. You just need to remember who you are and what you truly want….’cause you’re going to get it! Guides who are seasoned travelers are beginning to show up now, ready to help "re-mind" us how to make this transition, while we all together undergo this shift to our next state of being.

As one who is a natural transcender, though, you hold a key to this great evolutionary Event – not because you are better than anyone else is, but because you are already prepared to bear the intense heat and accelerated energies of transformation: You already know how to fly! Letting go in surrender to a higher Power, plus a natural willingness to "hang out in the dangle" of uncertainty while the new life takes form, are two of your chief characteristics. And your hearts are filled with compassion for others, from having been melted in your own "steam" so often yourselves. This is an alchemical process that you remember, which happens in the heart.

The interesting thing about our feeling heart, though, is that it’s twinned: We can feel as humanity as one soul, while also feeling everything personally as this one little human self. And since humanity itself is taking this leap, we sometimes cannot tell what feelings are ours personally, or which are part of the whole. So I’ve decided that what helps me the most right now when I’m feeling sad or hurt, is to just remember: Rarely is it personal! And if it is, own it, dissolve the illusion, and move on!

We passionate types are the muses of the soul, so we feel a lot. We're the carriers of so much creative energy, many of us literally burst into poets, painters, musicians, lovers, magicians, and inspired visionaries who write or speak. With all this fire ignited for service, we can also become "flaming codependents", and crazy and irresponsible with alcohol, drugs, romantic or sexual highs, or other ways of erroneously confusing lower-self desires for the soul’s passions to evolve.

We know both these lofty and shadowy sides of our nature quite well, though we may not have learned how to manage them. Nevertheless, being "wired" into the higher frequencies is our natural state, and exalted energy fields are our home. So, when things begin to fade in a world that is dying, one that is starving for love and authenticity, and for things to believe in, we muses are the ones who can inspire whole communities and help create new visions for the future. We just naturally energize whatever projects we enter into whenever we take a strong enough interest to give it our focused intention. We know how to be filled with wonder and awe. Our hungry hearts and thirsty minds keep us forever moving forward toward some kind of higher purpose, some extraordinary greater life. Why? Because the ordinary bores us to death!

Thank God for we high-spirited souls! Though many are afraid to involve with us, for fear they will lose themselves in our fervor, without us the world would fall into entropy, and all interests and enthusiasms would pale into a paltry technological coldness, or even complete non-existence. We must be patient now while our planet full of peoples bottoms out. 9/11 was the big reminder from the sky. We can no longer take for granted that America is the greatest country, or the wisest. The ego has run to the very edge of its own demise, and many can see this with eyes wide open, while others, even some of our leaders, still have much sleep in their eyes. The evidence of shadow is all around us. Can we own it or not? If America cannot own its own shadow, this Teacher archetype will do its thing and come upon us like Fate and bite us in the butt! Lessons now can either become our Fate, or a desired Future. It’s truly up to us.

And speaking of Shadow: Some of you may be in recovery from too intense an involvement in some aspect of living. This is the shadow side of the muse. After many a high-flying adventure, you may have singed your wings and tumbled to the ground in puddles of heart-felt woe. High flyers know all about hitting bottom and having to climb all the way back up into some kind of renewed way of living, since attraction to the extremes has been our way. But even though we've often crashed and burned from so much exposure to the light, we'd rather die than fold our wings.

Because we don't fit into the regular world too well, some of us have been living mostly "out-of-body", because, quite frankly, we prefer it that way. From all this wounding and lack of validation, we sometimes lose our sense of value for what we are here to represent. Learning to "ground" all this energy is a tricky business for people who like to fly. And the Shadow will have its way with us until we learn this.

To heal, we must find something in this earthly existence of ours that turns us on enough to captivate our interest and keep us here, taking responsibility for why we came here in the first place. For deep in our hearts, we've never really forgotten that all things are possible for those who keep the faith and are willing to persevere.

As winged birds, we can look down and see our brother and sister souls stuck in the muck of humankind’s dense conditions, noting that when we become sad little earth-bound creatures we completely forget we know how to fly. Somehow, we feel attached to these "wingless birds" all caught up in humanity's conditions; we know them as parts of ourselves. So at some point our soul overtakes our human ego and we start to feel an urge to swoop down in a conscious manner and help lift up our downtrodden fragmented parts. Then, all integrated once more, we will soar together to a newfound freedom.

When this urge hits us, we feel a deep sense of relief and fulfillment. A strong sense of sacred purpose overcomes us, making all our past troubles seem worthwhile. We can even see the sacred purpose of everything we’ve gone through, painful and pleasant alike. This work, which is known throughout human history as the "alchemical work of the soul" nourishes our thirsty minds and hungry hearts. It teaches us to love and honor our whole nature and be fully who we are. Intuitively we know that our time has come for all of us to "stand tall" in all that we are. It is our sacred purpose to bring Spirit back into our lives. And since those of us in human skin are the only "meaning makers" living on this planet, who else can do this work but us? Even if the angels tried, we’d have to perceive the meaning and act upon it for anything to ever manifest. Consequently, we cannot sit around awaiting the arrival of Divine Beings to lift us off; we’re to draw upon the divinity within ourselves, with the practical knowledge of being human!

It’s time to remember that it's our job to create sacred spaces for Spirit to do its holy work. We are here to bring spirituality to this planet, in all its expressions here. For no matter how far we’ve fallen, we can always trust that the very next adventure can bring us "the impossible dream." So you are that new hybrid creature who is needed now, for the salvation of humanity’s dream.

So happy re-awakening to what you already know well -- that you are made of both matter and spirit, both human and utterly divine! And realize that you already have within you everything you need to transcend now to a higher, more integrated state of consciousness just awaiting our recognition on the periphery of our awareness. It's "surrender time" once more. And we're all being called by our own Higher Self to open our hearts and spread our wings and go to work at what we all know best: just "doing our Being" as caring souls who already know that rebirth follows every death.

So join us anytime you can and discover members of your soul family you've always known, waiting to greet you and support your next right step in coming whole! if you've read this far, your new life is already beginning.
