As
we step out of old ways of knowing, our higher human
cognition ignites. These cognitive powers exist on a
mental plane beyond the intellect we generally use, which
is associated with our personal ego. Powers of our
archetypal Soulcreative imagination, inspiration,
and intuitionactivate within minds and hearts which
are living in surrender to a Higher Order. These three
aspects of the divine law of active intelligence are the
ways your soul "thinks."
- Creative
Imagination is the mental function that
bridges the gap between the actual and the ideal
that we seek. The inner imaging process is a
vehicle that carries us across the threshold into
whatever new life we "think up."
Subjective vision will always be the first stage
of any new materialization. Higher creative
imaginings do not emanate from our ego desires,
nor are they fantasy. Guided by a Higher Order,
creative imaginings are the soul's perception of
its rich eternal life, truths that well up from
the soul's memory bank. The roving thoughts and
empty visions of fantasy, on the other hand, come
from our ego needs and have no basis in Reality.
We use fantasy images to avoid living our lives.
They are preoccupied with the unreal. Fantasy is
making up images and thoughts that carry us out
of experience. Creative imagination invents ways
into experiencing. The archetypal Self is a
creative "imagineer" which thinks in
relation to our bigger story.
- Inspiration is
a feeling state that accompanies creative imaging
and the insights that come from inner work. When
you are inspired, you "turn on" like a
light bulb. An inspired idea compels us toward
materialization like a magnet's pull. An aspect
of our Higher Self's desire nature, inspiration
does not feel like a temporary or imbalanced
"high," but more like a motor driving
you to express.
- Intuition is a direct knowing
of Spirit. True intuition activates when our will is perfectly aligned
with the will of a Higher Order. Then something "pops" into
an instant knowing. To intuit something is to identify with it, and
identification is communion. In order to intuit something, we must
love it immensely; otherwise, there will be no desire to commune with
it. Love will always be the vital element in any profound knowing.
Intuition does not come from the subconscious individual mind or from
stored racial memory. It drops in directly from the superconscious
mind, from the omniscient Soul. We immediately recognize our knowing
as the Truth. [excerpts from BECOMING
A PRACTICAL MYSTIC, pg. 135-139]
