RELEASING A LINGERING ATTACHMENT

A Guided Imagery Exercise

 
Whenever you feel trapped in a pattern that no longer works for you and you truly seek release, this meditation will help you let it go. Be sure that you are ready, for this process invokes the archetype of Release or Dissolution, and any conditions or relationship that is no longer furthering your growth will bein to dissolve.

First say out loud, " I am willing to see this pattern in its entirety and to accept it for what it is. I will no longer allow it to rule me."

Now say, "From this point forward, I am willing to become respondable to my Self. I am willing to recognize assistance when it comes and to do my part!"

Now, visualize yourself sitting in repose in the center of your Heart … and allow the pattern you wish to release to arise in your conscious awareness … Let it take you over … Feel this state of limitation or negativity as intensely as you can … (pause)

Rise above your vision of the pattern, moving higher and higher. Experience how you gradually feel free as you move higher and higher … from above, see the whole pattern from a distance. See it for what it is … (pause)

Watch the pattern turn into a symbol representing its qualities … and give it a name! As you observe this symbol, notice that it is not you. Realize that you are the One observing, the One above.

Now, toss this symbol into the fire you now see before you! … and watch it turn to flame and gradually disintegrate into a powdery white ash … Stay with this image until the symbol of your problem or pattern is completely "whitened" and not how you feel as it dissolves … (long pause)

Take some time to say good-bye, and bless this pattern for serving you as it did … See the sacred function it had in your life … And feel as much gratitude as you can muster for what this pattern has represented in your growth …

Now, catch a quick glimpse of yourself behaving in the world free of this pattern you've just released … (pause) And anchor this new image in your mind … (long pause)

Sit in reverent silence for a few minutes and commune quietly with your Higher Self. Stay very close to the feelings emanating from your Heart … (long pause in the silence).
