Dear New or Potential Students:

This is a letter to all of you who are interested in or currently in Eupsychia's training/healing program. We want to familiarize you a little more with the meaning and purpose of the Eupsychia process for healing, training, and transformation. You each will, of course, be coming through two of our 14-day programs as an Intern in your final stage of this program. However, before that you will be required to experience two to four of our 6-day Intensives (depending on your background) for your own healing and transformation... not as a Trainee, but as part of the healing track. We believe, and teach, that "healing others and helping ourselves is all one process;" and this is our motive for combining the healing and training track in one setting.

Those attending as a part of the healing track get to experience our staff and Trainees, which provides models of people who are growing and evidencing this work. While those of you in training get to work hands-on with actual clients and various types of presenting problems, so you get true clinical/transformational training experience under intense supervision.

The program is highly transformational and is helpful for people who are either in a life crisis, undergoing a destiny move, in need of a solid, safe recovery or therapeutic/healing setting for deep personal work, or looking for a new type of life's work. We are not simply a workshop setting, but more like a therapy retreat or "time-out" in sacred space amongst like-minded souls so you can let go of your outer life for awhile, go inward and do your inner work. After you spend such a time with us in a certain location, Eupsychia "folds up and fades out" until another retreat is formulated at another time during the year. Times in between our intensives are times when each of you will practice, on a daily basis, the new skills you've learned. And when needed, you are primed for follow-up with professionals within your own home settings by our professional staff. We stay in contact as much as possible, either by phone or email, with those of you who seek us out.

In my 28 years' experience as a psycho-spiritual guide, I've never seen a program that offers so much so quickly to someone in transition — no matter what crisis or presenting problem one may be dealing with. We've had success with people who have been labeled and treated as DSM code patients, as well as people in trouble with addictions of all types, or those suffering from a life crisis. The only thing we are not set up for is medical treatment or in-patient detox. In the seventeen years we've been offering this model, we've had feedback from graduates of this program that enable us to see the long-range transformational benefit.

I have written and had published seven books on this psycho-spiritual training and therapeutic work, all available through our central office, and sometimes through your local bookstore. Those of you in the training are required to study this material as it gives you the philosophical foundation and many practical techniques to use in your own transpersonal for your continued healing or your work with clients. We are truly a "new paradigm" program, a bridge between a dying and emerging model of health care, and we are "set-makers" who've learned how to create an environment that Spirit will enter into to do Its loving and healing work. We have truly learned how to create a safety net for personal death/rebirth process which can be unnecessarily painful in isolation or with no guidance or support. Our psychospiritual group work becomes a sacred community that is very caring and creative. Our staff are not only highly-trained, seasoned professionals, but caring and non-intrusive helpers to this process. We're all benefit from this model ourselves every time we have the opportunity to present one of these retreats and work together.

Again, the new paradigm is influencing this work on every level of its implementation, and it is evolving as we go along: It is fluid, dynamic, loving, healing, intimate, meaningful, sometimes painful or chaotic, and exceedingly transformational — as any thorough rebirth process must be. Bottom-line, we are a Self-empowering program, knowing that the true Healer and Wise One is within each of you. Though we are willing to guide you, we do not consider ourselves "outer experts" on your inner process.

We include a lot of small therapy group work, ritual, breathwork, mask-making, the expressive arts such as poetry and art, body work, large group work and teachings, various types of meditation and imagery, journal-writing, quiet time, and play-time. Every evening before bedtime, we all come together to Honor the Closing of the Day, a large-group ritual that settles our energies and contains this process while we reflect, dream and get a good night's sleep. We are up-to-date in combining the best of the mainstream psychological work with emergent and more alternative psychospiritual approaches. Every program is evaluated, and we take seriously any errors and work suggested to correct them as we go along.

Your graduation ceremony becomes a sacred Initiation Rite which is exceedingly transformative and honors you for the personal work and expanded level of consciousness you now represent. Once you graduate, we help you start a practice in your own creative manner and become part of the Eupsychia Network which operates throughout the United States and starting to happen in a few other countries.

Thanks so much for your interest in the Eupsychia process. Please always feel free to email me at jacquie@austin.rr.com or Brenda at bshea@austin.rr.com when you have a question or just want to dialogue for awhile. We will see you soon.

Warmest regards,

Jacquelyn Small, LMSW
